National Lottery operator Camelot is planning a big festive push with EuroMillions draws on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day that will each create a guaranteed 25 UK millionaires.
The end-of-year activity follows the success of its draw on the opening day of the London 2012 Olympics that created 100 millionaires and sales director Duncan Malyon is predicting sales of EuroMillions tickets could double over the Christmas period.
“What we want to do is create some real excitement in the trade in the run-up to Christmas and generate continuous excitement between Christmas and New Year, which can sometimes be quite a quiet period in retail,” he said. “It will generate footfall into retailers in an absolutely key trading period.”
Draws on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day will each create a guaranteed 25 UK millionaires.
